Hi, I'm Connor.
I'm a Data Science student with a serious interest in the systems side of things — database internals, query optimization, and how you build infrastructure that actually holds up at scale.
Outside of work, I study Mandarin Chinese (aiming for fluency, not just proficiency), and I travel as much as I can. Domestic wise, looking to hit up some national parks and eventually check out Ireland.
I built this site because I wanted one place that holds all of it — the technical work, the language stuff, the travel writing — without pretending they're separate things.
Experience
June 2025 – August 2026
Designed a modular ETL pipeline framework consolidating 9+ ingestion scripts into a configurable scheduled system. Implemented Slowly Changing Dimension upserts with content-hash deduplication in PostgreSQL; added logging, centralized configs, Docker, and tests. Integrated Warpcore API ingestion and analyzed existing Envision/Warpcore data flows to support pipeline integration.
June 2024 – May 2025
Built an interactive graph to model dynamic workload requests for EC2 VMs with comparative pricing analysis across cloud providers. Developed a dockerized microservice with secure API routing between dashboard and optimizer components. Refactored genetic algorithm control flow for seamless front-end integration.
August 2023 – Present
Led weekly team meetings and coordinated operations across 7 course sections serving 2,400+ students. Designed curriculum for upper-level ML and introductory data analytics courses; created and taught a data analytics bootcamp for 20+ students. Promoted from Grading TA to Administrative Head TA.
Mandarin Chinese
I've been studying Mandarin for a few years and have competed in language proficiency competitions. My goal is genuine fluency — I want to read literature and survive my girlfriends scoldings, not just order food. Currently targeting HSK 5.
